Our Social Mind
Test Shoots
The workflow for our documentary has been exceptional, since day one we met up weekly and were conversing almost everyday as we all wanted to make sure was our FMP is the best it can possibly be. We have carried out a number of test shoots in good time before starting our official production days for 'Our Social mind'. Like all test shoots, some were successful, some not so much. However, we learnt from those that are unsuccessful as we knew what we needed to change and when.
In terms of the script, Ben was in charge of this and so he created some short scripts for me to present in our in-between takes. This was incredibly useful on the days of filming as it helped prompt me and occasionally stopped me from waffling.
Succeeding this, we then decided to take out different types of equipment, practice and familiarise ourselves with it more so we were super confident on production days. We decided to all meet in our university building and perform some small test shoots and sound recordings to analyse which ones we wanted to use in our final project.
After looking back on this and decided on what we wanted, we then contacted a friend who agreed to help us with a test shoot for one of our interviews to make sure we were ready for the upcoming documentary. The test shoot went really well and we were happy with what we accomplish throughout the day and also what we wanted to change if needed.
